“This is the real work of the peacemaker, to find the soft spot and the tenderness in that very uneasy place and stay with it. It we can stay with the soft spot and stay with the tender heart, then we are cultivating the seeds of peace” - Pema Chödrön. Very often the idea of cultivating peace is inferred as peace between individuals, peace in relationships. This sense of peace begins with peace to oneself. The first step is simply beginning to access the tenderness of heart and practicing cultivation of this tenderness during one’s yoga practice. The more one practices tenderness in the backdrop of strength and grounding on the mat, the higher the chances that faced with difficult situations where we tend to harden to ourselves and those around us, we will be able to tap into the tenderness of heart. In this workshop, we will explore what it means to find this tenderness of heart and internal peace and cultivate it in a soft but inspiring heart oriented practice. Explore what it means to interact with fellow humans from a space of tenderness. This practice will open with the Native American Four Directions ceremony and chanting and culminate in a yoga nidra practice.
