Kim Douglass

Kim is an American expat living in Germany since 2006. She began working towards her dream of opening a mindfulness center a few years ago after incorporating mindfulness, meditation, and yoga into her daily life. She worked closely with a business coach to help her navigate opening a business in Germany, and in December 2017 she completed her 200-hour Mindfulness Meditation and MBSR Teacher Training with Mindful Academy in Spain. She is working closely with her mentor, Bodhin Woodward, to strengthen her own practice and her teaching abilities.

Common Humanity, Center for Mindfulness came into being in January of 2018, and since then Kim has been facilitating

MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) courses, workshops and "mini-retreats" in English around Berlin. She is now making Evolve Yoga in Friedenau her "home base" for many of her activities.

She is enthusiastic about mindfulness and meditation because the practices have changed so much about her inner landscape and how she interacts with the world. She hopes to bring the practice to others that are overly stressed by everyday living.

Her vision is to build a community focused on healing and self-care that gives its members the space to grow. She calls her business "Common Humanity" because he believes that if we focus on what we have in common instead of our differences, we can create more happiness in ourselves and in the world.
